Digital Safety Awareness Program Empowers Seniors in Jabalpur
Digital Safety Awareness On June 3rd, Laxmi Memorial Charitable Trust, in collaboration with HelpAge India, organized a Digital Safety Awareness Program for the Sam Senior Citizens Club in Jabalpur. HelpAge India, the leading NGO dedicated to the welfare of senior citizens, partnered in this initiative. This initiative aimed to empower older adults with the necessary skills and knowledge to navigate the Digital World safely and confidently. More than 70 seniors actively participated in the program, gaining valuable knowledge from it.

Anamika Tiwari , representing her NGO, welcomed all guests and provided a brief overview of their efforts in empowering women and seniors to create a happier and more peaceful society.
The keynote speaker, Rakesh Dangi from HelpAge India, delivered a comprehensive session covering critical digital safety topics, including:
- Secure online banking practices
- Safe methods for online utility bill payments
- Creating robust passwords to prevent hacking attempts
- Techniques for identifying and avoiding fraudulent emails, WhatsApp messages, and websites
- Secure online cab booking procedures
- Essential device security measures to safeguard personal information

The program fostered a highly interactive environment, encouraging participants to ask questions and address their specific concerns. Mr.Dangi provided expert guidance on these inquiries, emphasizing the growing importance of digital literacy for seniors in our increasingly digital landscape.

The event welcomed several distinguished guests, including the convener of the Sam Senior Citizens Club, the renowned magician S.K. Nigam, and Wing Commander Chandan Sharma, Rakesh Dangi, Trustee Amit Trivedi, Anamika Tiwari. Their presence highlighted the significance of this initiative in promoting digital safety awareness among Jabalpur’s senior population

By equipping seniors with the knowledge and tools to navigate the digital world securely, the Digital Safety Awareness Program empowers them to actively participate in the online world.
